SHERBURNE: Floyd L. Couse, Jr., 80, of Sherburne passed away Wednesday February 10, 2021 at Utica Rehab and Nursing Facility.
He was born March 21, 1940 in Cooperstown, NY the son of Floyd L., Sr. and Margaret Kelsey Couse and received his education in Milford schools. Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the military police. He was a truck driver for several companies and then for Rea-D-Pac Foods in North Norwich until retiring. He was a member of the Brookfield Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a mechanic whose favorite pastime was rebuilding engines of all sizes and makes. He was also a carpenter and gunsmith.
Surviving are his companion, Ruth Kemp of Sherburne; his children, Marlene Couse of Auburndale, FL; Daffanny (William) Nicoletti of Sherburne; Robert (Michelle) Sprague of Binghamton; Peggy Couse of Sherburne; Malcolm Kemp of Smyrna; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his cat Misfit. He was predeceased by a daughter, Audrey Couse.
Graveside services with military honors will be held in the Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, NY at a later date to be announced.

Dad , I’m never going to be the same without you! I wish that you got to see your great grandsons you would be proud of the girls our grandsons are handsome and Willyray reminds me of you . Your up there with a lot of your family and some of your great friends and I’m sure ballbaby was right there to meet you I’m doing everything that I can that you’ve asked of me and people are going to have to understand. My heart will never be whole until we meet again ❤️
