Thomas F. LeRoy, 70, of Hoose Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away January 9, 2021 at Oneida Healthcare Center.
He was born May 6, 1950 in Caracas, Venezuela, a son of Frank A. and Jean Fraser LeRoy . He was a graduate of Hamilton High School and received his A.A.S. from SUNY, Canton. On May 24, 1975, Thomas married Susan “Sue” Wheeler in Hamilton. Tom worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier in Earlville, Hartwick and Eaton where he was well liked by people and adored by dogs. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly at garage sales. After retiring he spent much of his time observing the wildlife around his home and appreciated the solitude of nature, especially while spending summers with his family in Maine. Surviving are his wife, Sue; his children, Kelly (Michael) Crosby of Bouckville; Benjamin (Michelle Amato) LeRoy of Arvada, CO; sisters, Laura Burch of Cortland; Barbara (Tad) Jones of Edisto, SC; brothers, Larry (Shannon) LeRoy of Stockton Springs, ME; Robert (Arlene Hadley) LeRoy of Montville ME; his grandchildren, Nicholas of Bouckville, Luke and a third grandson on the way in Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A private celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at a later date. Financial contributions can be made in Tom’s memory to local organizations, such as Wanderers Rest and Southern Madison Heritage Trust.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY

Sue and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I truly enjoyed working with Tom for several years at the Eaton Post Office. He loved to talk about his family while sorting the mail. The craziest time I had working with him was when I had to do his route inspection and of course it had to be completed in the February. I had to ride in the back seat of the station wagon with the hole in the floor board. I thought I was going to have frostbite on my feet before the day was over. I can laugh about it now but it was a very long day. May you all find peace and comfort at this sad time.
