My husband & I were lucky to have Father Cahill marry us in his last day at St. Mary's in Hamilton before he went to work in the prison, I was able to assist him with with a Christmas project several years later for the inmates and their families. He was so pleasant and helpful. We have fond memories of him. Our condolences to his family.

I am Rich Cahill, Fr. Bill's nephew. I have so many fond memories of my time with him. I remember in 1978, my family spent the summer with him in Skaneateles, New York. He would take us the lake to watch us swim and make sure we didn't drown in the freezing cold water. I also remember sitting with him on his porch at night watching the lightning bugs in the field.

Perhaps my favorite time with him was during our family ski trips in to Idaho and Colorado in the 1990s. He loved to ski, and was always anxious to get out on the slopes first thing in the morning. He was also easy to spot on the hill...because if his bright, 1970s era ski clothes :-) The highlight of these trips was watching Fr. Bill and my father, Richard, squabble at the dinner table. The banter was hilarious, and give my insight into their life growing up together in Utica. This sibling rivalry between them lasted even into their 70s

I will always remember him for his kindness, his faith, and his dedication to the church. Despite the distance between us (we live in California), he always took time to call and maintain that connection. He will be greatly missed.

Our sincere condolences to Father Cahill's family and close friends. We knew him briefly during his stay at Beltrone. He had a kind, gentle way with words, always pleasant to fellow residents. He was dedicated in his service to the Church while he resided here. Rest In Peace. John and Ora Henkes

To Father Cahill's Family,
I had the pleasure of being in one of Father's original classes at Bishop Ludden back in 1963. I enjoyed him as a teacher and as a person. Lost touch w/ him but reconnected when he was stationed at a church in Canastota and I was seeing someone who was a member, along w/ her family of that parish. Speaking for all the Ludden grads who had Father for a teacher, we are sorry for your loss
