Obituary

Edward I. “Ed” Unger, 79, of State Highway 12, Earlville, NY, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 6, 1941 in Hamilton, NY, a son of Ivan R. and Elizabeth Rounds Unger. Edward married Nellie “Lucille” Gilliam who predeceased him in 2000. He married Kathryn Kracke on June 1, 2002 in Morris, NY. Ed was a cattle truck driver until retiring in 2016. He was an accomplished and talented carpenter who built miniature doll houses, barns, sleds and tables. He enjoyed spending times with his family and watching TV westerns. He was a member of the Burlington Flats Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; his children, Penny Marris of Madison; Dennis (Tabitha) Unger of Norwich; Jenny (Mike) Hill of Smyrna; Billy (Lisa) Unger of Earlville; Veronica (Stephen) Linnick of East Quoque, LI; Barbara Anne Homan of Unadilla; Michael Homan of Buffalo; Rick (Lisa) Homan of Morris; a sister, Deborah Burnap of Springhill, FL; brothers, Ted Unger of Earlville; David (Lori) Unger of Hamilton; 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Benny Unger, and two sisters, Joyce Demmon and Patricia Drown.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 11am-1pm.
Funeral services and interment in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville, NY are private.
Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
