Carl Studt of Earlville, NY, died early in the morning on Monday, November 18th at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, NY after a short illness. He was 66.
Carl Frederick Studt was born in Kingston, NY to George Martin and Dorothy Anna Peters Studt on December 27, 1952. He was raised in Kingston and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Kingston High School, Class of 1970. He earned an Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Technology from Ulster County Community College. He was employed by Hercules Inc. in Port Ewen for over a dozen years and was a shop foreman before leaving Hercules.
Carl married Mary Jane Nickerson on March 7, 1981 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kingston. They initially lived in the family homestead in Kingston, until moving to Chenango County in 1985. Carl worked in various positions until he founded his own business, Century Tool, in 2008. He was self-employed until his death. He was a member of the Randallsville New Life Church.
Survivors include his wife Mary; his children, Daniel Studt, Hannah (Daniel) Farrow, Bethany Studt, Sarah (Dylan) Studt, Joseph Studt, Caroline (Andrew) Wright, and Emma Studt; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Jael, and Rosalee Farrow, Haddie, Silas and Jadon Wright; his brother James (Veronica) Studt of Washington; his brother-in-law Floyd Helmreich of Michigan; his sister-in-law Martha (Gerald) Nickerson Cummins of Colorado; and brother-in-law James (Keisha) Nickerson. Twelve nieces and nephews also survive. Carl was predeceased by his parents, his sister Tina, and his daughter Martha.
Services will be held at Randallsville New Life Church, 1528 River Rd., Hamilton, on December 7th at 11:00 am.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Randallsville New Life Church or charity of choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY.
