Karen Sue Fehr, 74, of State Route 315, Deansboro, NY, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 20, 1945 in Utica, a daughter of Norman and May Howarth Locke and was a graduate of the Utica Free Academy. On May 30, 1981, Karen married James A. “Jess” Fehr in Brookfield. Karen, who was known as “Casey” to her friends and co-workers, was a CNA at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford. She, along with her husband, had a great love for showing and breeding Cairn Terriers and were members of the American Kennel Club.
Surviving are her husband, Jess; her children, Jacqueline (Brian) Warcup of Oriskany Falls; Daniel Casey of Tampa, FL; Christopher Fehr of Deansboro; grandchildren, David (Elyse) Giacona, Dominick Giacona, Danielle Casey, Matthew Giacona, Michael Giacona, and Larissa Warcup; great-grandchildren, Cassidiy May Hungerfield, Annabelle Vivian Curran, Arabella Khan and Sophia Rose Giacona. Also surviving are her special friends, Lucille Kennard, Debby Lajeunesse, Frank and Kitty Billiski, Geri and Sandy Sedora, Kim and Mike Caruso, and Mary Fedor. She was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Lynn Casey, and a son, Patrick Sean Casey.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Her wish was to donate her body to science for the advancement of medical education and research.
