Gordon W. Symonds, Jr., 65, of Vosburg Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 6, 1953 in Norwich, NY, a son of Gordon W., Sr. and Ruth Swanteson Symonds. He was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School and SUNY, Morrisville. Gordon worked at Proctor & Gamble in Norwich for 43 years, as a waste treatment plant operator and safety manager until retiring in December 2018. On September 7, 1991, he married Arlene Palmer in North Norwich, a loving union of over 27 years. Gordon loved cruising the countryside on his 1986 Statue of Liberty Edition Harley Davidson. He was an animal lover, enjoyed camping, and had a marvelous talent for making beautiful wooden pens from apple wood.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene; his children, Gordon W., III and Jen Symonds of Cleveland; Harry and Jen Symonds of Camden; Natasha Deusike and fiancé, Alan Huff of Lebanon; Sandra Knuth of Stroudsburg, PA; Jesse Symonds and fiancee, Rebecca Schneider of Earlville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin and Janet Symonds of Sherburne; Dennis and Charlotte Symonds of Barbersville, WV; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment is private.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am to 1pm prior to the service.
