Constance J. “Connie” Godshalk, 80, formerly of Earlville, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
Connie was born on July 5, 1940 in Middletown, NY, a daughter of Charles and Doris Ford Jantzen. She was raised in Earlville and was a graduate of Earlville High School. On November 14, 1959, Constance married Gerald A. Godshalk at St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne, a loving union of over 38 years until he predeceased her on March 30, 1996. Connie and Jerry enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends. Connie was a caring and devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. Over the years, many area children were cared for in Connie’s home day care service on Jantzen Road.
Constance was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church,
Surviving are her children: Belinda and Frank Leonardo of Leland, NC; Mark and Lori Godshalk of Hamilton; Nicole and Jeffrey Russo, and Michele Godshalk, all of Leland, NC; her beloved grandchildren: Brad and Emily Godshalk of Ann Arbor, MI; Erica Behler of Portland, OR; Jeffery Russo of Chesapeake, VA; Nicole and Lisa Leonardo of Ithaca; a sister, Joan Hagman of Eaton; a brother, Jim Jantzen of Eaton; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Jantzen of Sherburne; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Jantzen.
Graveside services in the Earlville Cemetery will be held in the spring.
