Obituary for Alberta Eaves (Franklin)

Alberta Franklin Eaves, 94, of State Rt. 10, Cobleskill, NY, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
She was born November 11, 1925 in Binghamton, New York, a daughter of Benjamin and Violet Tallett Franklin and received her education in Sherburne New York schools. In high school she was an avid cheerleader and a damn fine softball pitcher. On September 15, 1945, Alberta married Charles “Chuck” Eaves in Sherburne, a loving union of over 72 years when he predeceased her on April 9, 2018. In the late 1940’s Alberta worked for the Oneida Community silversmiths. From 1970 until retiring in 1994, she was the secretary for her husband’s bulk transportation trucking company, Charles H. Eaves and Sons in Cobleskill. She was a member of the St. Christopher Episcopal Church of Cobleskill.
Surviving are her daughters, Penny (Robert) Junke of Sahuarita, Arizona and Hope Olsen of Thousand Oaks, California; sons, Chris (Darlene) Eaves of Fultonville, New York; Lance Eaves of Salt Lake City, Utah; Patrick (Sue) Eaves of Las Vegas, Nevada; Harvey Eaves of Cobleskill; a sister, Lois Middleton of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law, Mildred “Millie” Franklin of Hamilton, New York; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Alberta was sharp as a tack, funny as hell, and a very generous soul to all that touched her life.
Services are private with interment in the Cobleskill Cemetery.
Contributions in Alberta’s memory may be made to Richmondville Fire Department, 288 Main Street, PO Box 481, Richmondville New York 12149.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, New York.
