Donald "Butch" Stetson
Donald R. “Butch” Stetson, 73, of Gorton Lake Rd., Waterville, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
He was born December 19, 1944 in Stockwell, NY one of ten children of the late Marion and Lena Michael Stetson. He received his education in Waterville schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Butch worked in construction his entire life and retired from Bette & Cring Construction Co. in Latham, NY. He was a member of Laborers Local #35 of Whitesboro. Butch was a sportsman and a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and vegetable gardening. He especially loved taking his cherished grandchildren to lunch and for ice cream every chance he got.
Surviving are his lifelong partner, Debra Seamon; his children, Wayne and Darlene Stetson of Waterville; Jane and Bart Owen of Plainfield; George and Melissa Stetson of New Hartford; Richard Seamon (Carri Clements) of Ilion; Matthew and Gina Seamon of Richfield Springs; eleven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A gathering to celebrate Butch’s life will start at Noon on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Beaver Valley Rod & Gun Club, 2929 West Lake Rd., West Edmeston, NY 13485 with military honors at 2pm.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
