In September 1944, he joined the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in Austria for two years. On January 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to Eunice "June" Helmes, a loving union of 57 years when she passed away in 2006.
Bob and June established Garrrett’s Supermarket in Waterville in 1949, which later became Food King, on the site where the present CVS is today. They had spent the last 28 years in The Villages, FL where Bob was an avid golfer who loved the game dearly. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will always be missed by his family and friends.
Bob was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Waterville. He was a member of the Clifford J.
