F. ALAN LARKIN
SHERBURNE: F. Alan Larkin, 88, of Furman Mills Rd., passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born October 4, 1929 in Brookfield, NY, a son of William W., Sr. and Ruth Hodges Larkin. Alan graduated Brookfield High School in 1948 where he earned Varsity letters for Football and Basketball, and an AAF Certificate of Achievement in Vocational Agriculture. He was a dairy farmer on the family farm William Larkin & Sons in the Town of Brookfield until retiring. Alan enjoyed going to auctions with friends, watching NASCAR and collecting tractors. He was a member of the Hubbardsville Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years; and also a member of the Hubbardsville Fish and Game Club.
Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, William W. Larkin, Jr. of Waterville; James C. and Bonnie Larkin of Grove City PA and Sebring, FL; nieces and nephews Sherry (Gene) Pegnetter of Murphy, NC; Elaine (Bob) Lewis of Nashville, TN; Connie Barrows of Groton, NY; Jennifer (Matt) Kratzer of Moravia, NY, and a special nephew Jeffrey (Stacy) Larkin of Cortland, NY. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Gilbert, and a brother, Kenneth W. Larkin.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of his family in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
